So, let’s begin with a little coffee lesson first… Coffee beans are the seeds of the coffee plant. They are the pit inside of a red or purple fruit that is called the cherry. Coffee beans are actually a stone fruit, like regular cherries, but are called beans because of their resemblance to actual beans. The coffee I used to make these this soaps is a special, naturally processed coffee that is roasted using the whole cherry of the coffee plant, not just the “bean” (pit). This is a very unique, local craft coffee that I found here in Houston, TX, and I was excited to work with it.
Now to elaborate a bit more about the soap… This body bar features coconut milk & brewed coffee, tussah silk, natural cocoa powder, aloe vera, and fine coffee grounds for exfoliation. It is lightly scented with Frankincense, Pine, and Benzoin.
